The circle of friends of the Berlin State Opera House Unter den Linden was founded by Hans-Dietrich Genscher in 1992 and continued by Peter Dussman who considers it his specific task to improve the financially weak status of the opera house in the long term. Meanwhile, the friends and patrons are among the most active donors in Berlin and will stop at nothing to acquire donations for their cultural institution.

The State Opera House (Staatsoper) in Berlin has been located on the 'Boulevard Unter den Linden' for over 250 years now. In order to ensure its demanding artistic repertoire and its continued existence in notoriously damp Berlin, friends and patrons have merged to form a group of members.

We are convinced of the importance of the work of the circle of friends and support it in attracting donations and members as well as its PR work.
