Berlin's Long Night of Science (Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften, LNDW) has long been recognized as the trailblazer for themed night-time events. Held for the 10th time in 2010, the Long Night of Science has seen its visitor numbers grow year after year. We devised the poster campaign for this anniversary event.

In the years since its launch, the Long Night of Science has become an institution for Berlin's universities. On June 5, 2010, from 5 p.m. until 1 a.m., inquisitive minds of all ages had the chance to look behind the scenes of the laboratories, idea factories, archives, libraries, auditoriums and operating rooms of 70 scientific institutions in Berlin and Potsdam, and to experience research first-hand.

For our successful pitch to design the posters, we devised three campaign motifs highlighting the event's claim to be "the smartest night of the year". When it came to using these campaign motifs, we were commissioned to design and develop additional communications media, including visual and audio advertisements to be carried on public transportation in Berlin and Potsdam
