Lovis Corinth belongs to what one could call the doyen of German art of the 20th century.
The art historian Norbert Eisold digged delved into the "doyen" in his book "Lovis Corinth - Fridericus Rex". He deals with the legacy of Knut Knöbler, out of whose collection 37 sheets of the Fridericus lithographies were acquired by the German Foundation for the Preservation of Sites of Historic Interest. The publication was published by the monumente publishing house.
